Special ‘awards of the decade’ were given out on the night for venues that had been judged as having built up a reputation of being the best in their field over the past ten years.

The crème of the Northern Ireland hospitality and entertainment industry was recognized at the annual awards and commenting on the win, Apartment Manager Claire Charleton said that the success of the bar was due to the dedication from the staff over the past ten years. “It is fantastic that Apartment has picked up the award for bar of the decade and it is a testament to the good practice carried out by Morgan and his staff over the years.

Darling, let's go to The Parador!

26 March 2010

In response to Alastair Darling’s budget price hikes, The Parador Hotel on the Ormeau Road in Belfast is looking to create some post budget cheer with customers by announcing some amazing new money saving deals.

“Whilst Mr. Darling wants to take more money from consumers, we thought that we would save them some,” said Peter Murray, Manager of The Parador.

“Beer, wine and fuel are just a few of the consumer goods that are set to rise in price after this week’s budget, so what better way to raise consumers spirits and create some credit crunch fun by offering a range of discounts and our new £5 meal deal.

“Our food is freshly prepared using simple, local ingredients, with something to suit all tastes and we were awarded The Taste of Ulster plaque last year.  For those who are catching lunch between meetings, customers can even pre-order meals with their food ready on arrival, ensuring enough time is left for customers to enjoy their food and to relax.

“We will also be offering pints of beer for £2.50 and bottles for £2 from now until the end of April. We want to give our customers the best possible value for money and The Parador budget busters will hopefully go a long way towards helping them as they feel the pinch of the budget hikes.

“The Parador is a local friendly bar with plenty of character and we would be delighted to welcome both locals and new visitors through the door to sample our great value food and drink offerings.”

The Botanic Inn to broadcast live football match in 3D

26 March 2010

With over 2.6 million football fans set to watch one of the Premiere Leagues defining games of the season as Chelsea clash with Manchester United on Easter Saturday, the Botanic Inn is giving local fans the chance to have the best seats in the house when they will show the match live in 3D.

A 42” screen will be positioned in the front bar of the Bot providing a truly unique view of the game placing customers at the heart of the action for this exciting title decider.

Gerry Webb Manager of the Botanic Inn commented “People will really notice the difference and they will have a real sense of being in the thick of the action at Old Trafford. Football is an emotional game and seeing it in 3D will add another dimension to our customers’ experience.”

Gerry stated that customers should not be put off by having to wear the 3D glasses, “We will be providing everyone with a pair of free glasses with polarised lenses to ensure the three dimensional effect and consumer testing has shown that people forget pretty quickly that they are wearing them. Once the game has kicked off people will be so engaged and drawn into the match that they won’t even realise they are wearing the glasses.

“At the Botanic Inn we are constantly striving to provide our customers with the best experience and we feel this is another positive addition to the Bot. We plan to show another five football matches in 3D before the end of the season giving everyone the chance to see their favourite team in action.”
